Our Research
The Genoyer lab studies the spatial regulation of RNA virus-host interactions with a current focus on emerging and re-emerging arboviruses. We are interested in how the intracellular localization of viral RNAs impacts innate immune activation and viral replication across different viruses, cell types, and host cell sensors. We are excited to explore where pattern recognition receptors productively interact with viral RNA ligands, the identity of these ligands during natural infections, and how viruses regulate, or fail to regulate, the subcellular localizations of their RNAs throughout infection.
