Emmanuelle Genoyer, PhD
Principle Investigator
Emmanuelle was born in France and raised in south Florida. She received her BS in Biochemistry at Yale where she first fell in love with virology and innate immunity. She received her PhD from the University of Pennsylvania where she studied paramyxovirus defective viral genomes. She then completed her postdoctoral training in innate immune sensing of flaviviruses at the University of Washington. She is excited to continue studying RNA viruses and innate immunity at the University of Florida!
Outside the lab Emmanuelle enjoys reading fiction, finding cheap flight deals, outdoor adventures, and spending time with her crazy cat Sylvie.
Patrick Barros Tiburcio, MS
Biological Scientist II
Patrick was born and raised in Brazil. He received his B.S. in Biotechnology from the Federal University of Uberlândia and his M.S. in Bioprocess Engineering and Biotechnology from the Federal University of Paraná. Previously, he served as a Research Specialist at the School of Medicine and Public Health at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, collaborating on respiratory virus surveillance, HIV/SIV and Zika virus infection research, and stem cell–based therapy investigations. He is excited to continue advancing research in RNA virology and immunology.
Patrick also enjoys camping and traveling with his family in his free time.
